assignment
Created in November 2003, the Regional Cancer Screening Coordination Center - Corsica has the following objectives:
1: To implement national organized cancer screening programs (in accordance with the decree of September 29, 2006), and in particular breast cancer, cervical cancer and colorectal cancer in the two departments of the region Corsica.
This center also organizes the consultation for the aggravated risk of cancer in connection with the IPC.
2: To establish coordination between all the partners (potential beneficiaries, the medical professions concerned, the State, the Community of Corsica). As such, it works to bring together the human, financial and material conditions necessary for carrying out cancer screenings.
3: To evaluate the effects of the actions of the aforementioned cancer screenings. It collects the necessary information, both from the beneficiaries of the screening and from the doctors.
4: To promote all research, action, evaluation aimed at increasing the effectiveness of cancer screening.
5: To participate in the training of medical and paramedical personnel involved in cancer screening programs, in order to improve the quality of procedures carried out on people screened.
6: Checking, directly or through an outside body, the quality of the materials used and compliance with procedures.
Today, the cancer screening center in Corsica, offers consultation to estimate the risk of cancer (service often referred to as aggravated risk of cancer). The oncogenetics consultation makes it possible to offer personalized screening and monitoring to people with a family predisposition to cancer.
The calculation of the Eisinger score and the search for genes are the fundamental tools. For breast and ovarian cancers, for example, the genes most commonly analyzed are the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.LEARN MORE
